Lao American freelance photographer Bidone Bouriyaphon takes us on an intimate glimpse this month of the 2008 Lao American New Year Celebration in San Diego, California of the Nang Sangkhan Beauty Pageant. For the 26th year in a row, the San Diego celebration drew thousands this year to Market Creek Plaza.The temperature this year averaged in the 60s.The Lao Community Cultural Center is one of the key organizers of this event. Over 65,000 Lao live in California today.
